Lake Powell

Lake Powell is a man-made reservoir on the Colorado River.
It is the second largest man-made reservoir in the United States behind Lake Mead, storing 24,322,000 acre feet (30 km3) of water when full.
It is huge! I was surprised to hearing that the start of storage was on Mar13, 1963 and the completion of "intial" filling was on Jun22, 1980.
It took more than 13 years! Can you believe that?
